Receive the New in Your Thinking

During our January 2025, 21-day Daniel Fast, I'm led to host weekly group prayer via Zoom each Tuesday. In our first prayer session on Tuesday, January 7,2025, our prayer focus was "Receive the New". Here are the scriptures, confessions, and audio prayer for Week 1.

Confession

Father God, in the name of Jesus, I surrender my way of thinking to Your way of thinking. I receive You alone as Lord, so have Your way in my life. Not my will, but Your will be done.

Now that I'm in Christ, I receive the mind of Christ according to Philippians 2:5. My mind is renewed and transformed by the Word of God. I am a new creature in Christ, the old man is gone for God has made all things new in me and for me.

As Jesus is, so am I in this world. Just as I am forgiven and blessed with new mercies every day, my new nature forgives. I take authority over any unforgiven spirit for that's the old man and I receive the new. I am not bound by unforgiveness of myself or others. I am free for He whom the son has set free is free indeed.

I remember not the former things, but I live in the new that God has done for me. For the joy of the LORD is my strength. My strength is empowered by the joy of my Heavenly Father. My day-to-day strength to continue moving forward comes from the joy of the LORD. No bad situation can outweigh or be greater than the joy of the LORD!

Regardless of my past mistakes or other's memories of my past, I remind myself that I have been made new in Christ Jesus. I keep my mind stayed on Him and He keeps me in perfect peace. I set my affection on things above and refuse to allow the enemy to distract me. For I have authority over the attacks of the enemy.

I remain joyful in every challenge knowing that every attack is temporary because my God promises to delivery me from them all! This is my new perspective for I have been made new. And I receive the new, in Jesus' name. Amen

  • 1 John 4:17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

  • Lam 3:22-23 [It is of] the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. [They are] new every morning: great [is] thy faithfulness.

  • John 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
